The APPTI Next-Generation Pulping Team hosted a workshop at the James B. Hunt Jr. Library, Duke Energy Hall, in Raleigh, NC, to examine and refresh research priorities from the Next Generation Pulping Roadmap. Participants reviewed R&D needs and project topics from the 2016 Roadmap and the projects undertaken to address those priorities.
The agenda covered:
- R&D needs and project topics identified in the 2016 Roadmap
- Whether previous priorities remain relevant given technology and industry changes
- Brainstorming new project topics for future RFPs
- Optimization opportunities and technology gap-closing initiatives across multiple plants
The deliverables inform discussions with governmental and granting agencies regarding technological developments needed to reduce energy, CO2 emissions, and advance the circular bioeconomy.
