I was pleased to join a tremendous group of pulp & paper industry peers at the ORNL Workshop in Seattle/Redmond, WA on October 20–21. Participants included the entire APPTI Board of Directors. This was a vitally important step in defining the industry priorities and pull for the upcoming three-year funding of CRAFT, the DOE Center for Research and Advancement of Forest Product Technologies. This was a huge step. Breakthrough research to benefit the Forest Products Industry will now be greatly facilitated by this funded Center. We look forward to more definition and the next steps in the process.
